Word 2003 Crash on Open
I was able to get out of the endless loop by running the Repair Console and using "bootcfg /rebuild" to write a new boot.ini that excluded the safemode option. Once that was done, So the only way out that I could see was to go in from the repair console (or something like NTFS4DOS) and edit boot.ini.

Firstly, where does it say it is only for Word 2000? It is general for ALL versions. Secondly, uninstalling/reinstalling rarely ever fixes Word problems so why did you waste time doing that instead of following the FAQ guidance? If the entire Vista OS has to be reinstalled, that will only effect the C partition. Everything that is stored on the other partition will be not be changed. .... If these don't work booting into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key and using System Restore from one of the safe modes besides VGA may work.
